We picked up another 3 inches on the upper mountain from a weaker wave of precipitation that moved through yesterday. The next storm is already approaching and will bring us heavier snowfall this afternoon into Monday.
The snow should start flying on the upper mountain this afternoon and last into the day Monday. There is colder air with this storm so the snow levels will drop all the way to the base overnight tonight.
We could see 10-20 inches of snow on the upper mountain by the time it is all over Monday evening, with 5-10 inches possible from mid-mountain down to the base. The higher amounts the further up the mountain you go.
With totals of 12-18 inches already up top on Squaw and Alpine, it is possible we have storm totals for the weekend of 2-3 feet.
Quiet weather returns Tuesday and lasts into President's weekend. Then the pattern changes for the week of the 16th and that could possibly lead to more storms by the middle of the week.
