We picked up 16 inches up top at Squaw overnight, and 14 inches at Alpine. The snow is still falling today and we could pick up several more inches. More snow is expected next week.
The snow will turn more showery today as the storm moves away. We could pick up 1-3 more inches. By tomorrow morning it looks like we will come in on the lower end of the original forecast, in the 18inch range on the mountains. That should help to open more terrain.
Over the weekend we are expecting colder temperatures in the 30's with sunshine.
A trough will dig down the coast on Monday and several waves will move in from the Northwest through Wednesday. The snowfall amounts with each system look light, but they could pile up over a foot of snow over the 3 day period. Another weak system may bring more light snowfall next Friday.
Heading into the holiday week it looks like the pattern will change and we will see a break in the storms. The long-range models suggest that we could see more storms around Christmas day or just beyond.
