We picked up 10 inches at the base over the past 24 hours. Squaw picked up 14 inches on the upper mountain and Alpine 16 inches.
We are seeing additional snow showers falling this morning that could add another inch or two to the totals. The snow showers should taper off this afternoon. It is cold with highs only in the 20's, and winds have dropped off to only 10-15 mph up top.
Sunday and Monday the sun returns but it stays cold with highs in the 20's on the mountain, and low 30's at the base.
Tuesday through Friday high pressure builds in along the West Coast. That will continue the sunny and dry conditions with temperatures warming into the low 40's.
New Year's Weekend
The forecast models are still not in agreement next weekend. Some of the model runs show a cold trough moving in with colder air and light snow for New Year's Eve. Then New Year's Day some model runs show a stronger storm moving in with heavier snowfall.
We will continue to track down the storms for next weekend over the next week to try and get a better idea of what we will see.
