The report as of 5 a.m. was 12 inches on the mountain in the past 24 hours. The snow showers continue this morning with winds gusting to 40 + mph up top.
We are seeing a brief lull in the snow showers first thing this morning, but more showers will move in today and tonight from the West as the first system finishes moving through. We could see another 5-8 inches on the mountain by Thursday morning.
Thursday it looks like we could have a break in the morning and then snow showers moving in again during the afternoon. Only expecting an inch or two during the day. Wind gusts could become stronger again Thursday ahead of the next wave. Thursday night we should see heavier snowfall return. By Friday morning there could be an additional 11-17 inches on the mountain.
The snow showers continue Friday into Friday night. We could see an additional 8-12 inches of snow on the mountain by Saturday morning.
In total that would bring total additional snowfall of 2-3 feet on the mountain, on top of the foot that has fallen so far, so 3-4+ foot storm totals by Saturday.
The snow showers may linger into Saturday morning before the storm completely moves out. Then we should see some sun Saturday afternoon through Monday. Highs remain cool in the 30's.
The latest forecast model runs still show a storm sitting off the coast by next Tuesday beginning to spread moisture into CA. Some are faster with a quick hit of several inches Tue-Wed. Others stall the storm off the coast longer with a prolonged period of precipitation Tue-Fri next week. Either way it looks like more storms next week so we will be tracking those after we get through this storm.
