Clouds and wind are increasing today with light rain showers possible, and highs in the 50's to start.
Tonight a strong cold front will bring colder air, falling snow levels, and heavy snowfall. We could see 12-18 inches on the mountain by Thursday morning.
The snow showers will continue into Thursday before tapering off by evening, with highs only in the 30's. We could pick up a few more inches Thursday, with storm totals of 11-15 inches at the base and 15-23 inches on the mountains by Thursday evening.
The winds will be strong with mountain top gusts near 80 mph tonight and then gusts to 50 mph on Thursday as winds start to diminish.
A weak system moving through to the North could bring some light snow Friday night with maybe a dusting. The temperatures are in the 30's and 40's Friday and then they warm into the 40's and 50's over the weekend as high pressure builds back in.
A weak system moves through Tuesday and again Friday next week but it doesn't look like any precip reaches the Tahoe basin. Temperatures will be in the 50's through the week.
We may see a pattern change the week of the 29th towards more storms.
