Today will be cloudy, windy, mild, and maybe some light precip as well. Mountain top winds will be strong with gusts to 70+ mph through tonight, and will stay strong gusting to 60 mph on Saturday.
Light precip will try to push into the Tahoe Basin today and then heavier precip will push in later this afternoon and into Saturday. Snow levels today will be around 7500 feet and then falling to near 7000 feet this evening and to base level overnight.
We could see snowfall totals of 5-10 inches at the base by Saturday evening, and 10-20 inches on the mountain.
The storm will clear out by Sunday and the winds will calm. Sunday will be a chilly day with sun and highs in the 30's.
Then high pressure builds in through next week with sun and milder weather, and highs in the 40's.
We could see a cold trough push in next weekend bringing the chance for more snow.
