The official report from the upper mountain is 10" at Squaw and 11" at Alpine. The storm delivered the high end of the forecast with light and fluffy powder on the hill today.
Sunny and cold today with lighter winds and highs in the 20's. We should see strong winds and mabye a few snow showers Saturday with a weak system brushing by, with highs in the 20's on the upper mountain and 30's at the base. Then clearing Sunday with some sun and highs in the 30's. Wind gusts may come down a bit Sunday.
The Next Storm:
Monday we have another cold storm moving in that could bring similar amounts of snow to the storm yesterday. 7-14 inches is the updated forecast for Monday in total by Monday night. It will be windy and cold with highs in the 20's.
A break again Tuesday into Wednesday with some sun possible and highs in the 20's and 30's.
Next Thursday into Friday the forecast models have been advertising a weather pattern that could allow these cold storms to start picking up more moisture off the ocean. It looks like we could see a stronger storm move in that brings feet instead of inches. We will take a closer look at potential snowfall amounts this weekend and as we get closer.
The active pattern looks like it could continue the first week of March and into the 2nd week.
