Where do we drop off and pick up our children?
Squaw Kids Adventure Camp runs out of the Squaw Kids Ski and Snowboard School building located next to the members locker room and the base of Red Dog chair lift.

What will my child do on days with bad weather?
Down days don’t happen very often in the summer, but if they do, we have plenty of fun games and activities on the lower mountain to keep your child engaged. Including yoga, ‘Be a Chef’ day, eco-hikes, arts and crafts, rock climbing, mini golf and much more.

Where will my child be all day?
On an ideal day at Adventure Camp, your child will explore the lower mountain as well as the High Camp area on the upper mountain with their counselor. From waterfall hikes on the lower mountain to swimming at High Camp, your kid will discover all Squaw Valley has to offer.

How can I find my Child?
If you ever need to get in touch with your child, all our counselors will be equipped with radios, so we can get in touch with them from our sales team in the Tram building or calling the sales center at 1-800-403-0206.

What fitness level is needed for the Eco-Hikes?
Our Eco-Hikes will range in distance and difficultly.  Our trained counselors will accommodate our quests by providing physically appropriate hikes for their group. Most hikes will range from 1-3 miles. Note that this programs is  physically demanding and kids will be outside most of the day.

Will snacks and lunch be provided?
Yes! A healthy lunch is provided and we provide healthy snacks to keep your child’s energy level high. Picky eaters and children with severe allergies may want to bring their own lunches and snacks.

What should I put in my child’s backpack?
To be prepared for a day at Adventure Camp bring sneakers (close toe shoes),  sun screen, sun hat,  swimsuit*, water bottle, and extra layers for our quickly changing mountain weather (i.e. sweatshirts, jacket, base layers). *We will provide towels at the pool.

Will my child be in a group with other kids their age?
Explorers are age 5 to 7 and Mountaineers are age 8 to13. Cognitive and physical skills are different for each age group and we find that discovery takes place when children are in the appropriate age groups. Depending on the day and group numbers, we will do our best to fit each child into the appropriate group that best fits their needs. The activities will be designed for these individual age groups.

My child is a beginner swimmer. Is there a lifeguard on duty at the pool?
Although we are not swim instructors, we will care for your child in the water. There will always be a lifeguard on duty when we are in the pool at High Camp. We will have several life jackets available for any beginner swimmers.

What if I need to cancel my child's reservation?
Adventure Camp Cancellation Policy -Adventure camp is fully refundable until 5 pm two days prior to the date of the camp. Reservations cancelled after 5 pm two days prior are non-refundable or subject to a $35 re-booking fee.
