Spartan Race World Championship

For the fifth year in a row, the Spartan Race World Championship will take place right here in Squaw Valley. The world's best athletes will congregate on the course with a shared goal: to be the Spartan Race World Champion. The most anticipated obstacle racing weekend of the year will feature three Spartan Race distances to choose from over two days of racing. Come cheer on your friends and family or just watch as these incredible athletes compete for the title of "Spartan Race World Champion". A special Tram Access Ticket will be available Friday thru Sunday for access to the upper mountain course, see details below.

Spartan Race World Championship Distances

• Spartan Ultra Race (Saturday): 30mi/50km - 60 obstacles - 7 hours fastest time
• Spartan Beast (Saturday & Sunday): 13 miles/21km - 30 obstacles - 3 hours fastest time
• Spartan Kids (Saturday & Sunday): 2mi, 1mi, and .5mi races available
• Spartan Tahoe Trail (Saturday): 10km

If you’re looking to unleash your inner beast and go to places you never imaged, the Spartan Beast is perfect for you. With 13 mi / 21 km and 30 obstacles between you and the finish line, the Spartan Beast will test everything you’re made of: your strength, your endurance, your resolve. The unpredictable terrain and Spartan Obstacles are masterfully designed to push you deep into your discomfort zone, and well past those self-imposed obstacles you once considered your limits. The Spartan Ultra Race

The Ultra is the first race of its kind to bring the best of OCR and ultra-endurance sports together. If you’re a traditional ultra-endurance sports fan, you will love the Ultra.

Kids Race

Spartan Race isn't just for adults. Our Spartan Kids Race offers two distances for the little Spartans in your life. Based on age, our Kids races have obstacles in them just like the grown up versions. Come watch your future Spartans run, jump, and play just like they're supposed to.

Spartan Tahoe Trail 10k

Spartan Trail is a no-obstacles foot race through rugged wilderness, overseen by legendary race directors from the world of trail running. With a 10k (6.2 mile) race at all events and a Half Marathon (13.1 mile) at select locations, there’s a Spartan Trail for everyone. Learn More.
