We have some sun this morning with temperatures in the 30's and ridge top wind gusts to 50 mph. As we go through the day today we will warm into the 40's with increasing clouds and winds. By this afternoon the ridge top winds should exceed 70 mph shutting down upper mountain lifts.
The snow begins to fall by this evening with temperatures plummeting into the 20's as the cold front moves through during the evening. We will see heavy snowfall during the evening with the cold front passage, and then snow showers behind the front overnight. By Monday morning we could have 6-9 inches on the lower mountain and 9-12 inches on the upper mountain.
The snow showers are expected to continue most of the day Monday before tapering off by evening. Highs only in the 20's on the mountain and 30's at the base. Winds are expected to drop off with gusts to only 40 mph. We could see an additional 1-3 inches of snow on the mountain. That would bring the storm totals to 7-11 inches on the lower mountain and 11-15 on the upper mountain when we tally it up Tuesday morning.
The Rest of the Week
Tuesday and Wednesday we stay cool with upper mountain highs in the 30's and 40's at the base. Winds may increase Wednesday ahead of a weak system moving through Wednesday night. The storm could brush us with 1-3 inches of snow Wednesday night.
Thursday should clear out with cool temperatures continuing. Then going into nextweekend we should warm into the 40's and 50's with lots of sun.
The long-range looks pretty quiet right now. We will continue to watch for any storms into May, but Monday could be the last good powder day of the season.
