Through donations made at events in The Village at Squaw Valley along with direct cash contributions by the resort, the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe directly attributes the saved lives of more than 700 animals in the last 10 years to their relationship with Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows.
Since 2002, Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows has hosted events that benefit the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe such as the Peak and Paws Festival in June, and Brews, Jazz and Funk Fest in August. In 2011, the resort expanded its support to include cash donations—about $12,000 annually—to help cover the cost of food and veterinary services.
The support we receive from Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, it’s tremendous. It has allowed us to save so many more lives than we would’ve been about to without them.
– Stephanie Nistler, executive director Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe
