The Village at Squaw Valley® Celebrates Classic Cars with Hot August Nights “Show-n-Shine” on June 9

[Olympic Valley, Calif.] May 30, 2018  – The Village at Squaw Valley, in conjunction with North Lake Tahoe, will welcome a “Shown-n-Shine” with Nevada based Hot August Nights, the world’s premier classic car event on Saturday, June 9, 2018.
 
Free for spectators, the “Show-n-Shine” event will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 9 and participants will come from all over the world to show off their rides. Visitors will have access to the classic cars, exceptional shopping, live music with Rick Hammond Band in the Events Plaza from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., and outdoor dining in Squaw Valley’s majestic mountain setting. Attendees can explore and enjoy a variety of activities, such as a scenic Aerial Tram ride to High Camp at 8,200 feet with panoramic views of Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada, as well as a short drive to the shores of Lake Tahoe and much more.
 
“As an organization who reaches a fan base of varying audiences, demographics and geographical locations, we’re always looking for new opportunities to expand and elevate the organization,” said Mike Whan, executive director of Hot August Nights. “The addition of the Hot August Nights Show-n-Shine at Squaw Valley this year allows us to offer another layer of experience for our fan base.”
 
The car show will take place in the Main Day Lot, with space reserved for cars of all makes and models from 1976 and older, and will also include pick up sized trucks and emergency vehicles. Three vehicles will be selected as winners with ribbons awarded at 3 p.m.
 
Car owners who are registered for the August 3-4 and August 7-12 Hot August Nights events are welcome to participate in the June 9 event free of charge. Non-registered, interested participants are encouraged to give a minimum donation of $10 to the Hot August Nights Foundation to participate in the judged portion of the “Show-n-Shine.” Hot August Nights participants can also take advantage of discounted lodging rates at The Village at Squaw Valley—10 percent off the best available rate for a one night booking, or 20 percent off the best available rate for two or more nights.
 
Visit High Camp via the Aerial Tram at Squaw Valley
The Aerial Tram at Squaw Valley will be open daily from June 15-September 3. The Aerial Tram will also be open on Saturdays and Sundays June 2-3, June 9-10 September 8-9 and September 15-16 and Friday through Sunday September 28-30. Enjoy an aerial climb over 2,000 feet from the base of Squaw Valley to High Camp, located at 8,200 feet, with 360 degree views of Lake Tahoe’s high alpine. Bluesdays Tuesday Lodging Special
Each Bluesdays Tuesday this summer, guests can book overnight lodging in the heart of Bluesdays action in The Village for $99 for a one bedroom suite, $199 for a two bedroom suite, and $299 for a three bedroom suite with stage views, pending availability.
