The Aerial Tram is your ticket to Squaw's 18-hole disc golf course. There is no fee for playing our disc golf course that is located mid-mountain. However, you will need to use your 2016-17 season pass through July 4, your 2017-18 season pass after July 4, or purchase an Aerial Tram ticket to access. The course offers panoramic views of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding Sierra Nevada. Disc golfers can bring their own discs or purchase a set at the High Camp Sports Shop.
Due to snow on the upper mountain, limited disc golf holes are open. As of June 15, holes 1, 2 and 18 are open. Holes 3-17 will open as snow permits.
What is Disc Golf?
Disc golf is played much like traditional golf. Instead of a ball and clubs, however, players use a flying disc. The sport shares with "ball golf" the object of completing each hole in the fewest number of strokes (or, in the case of disc golf, fewest number of throws). The trees, shrubs, and terrain changes around the fairways provide challenging obstacles for the golfer. Finally, the "putt" lands in the basket and the hole is completed.
